Washington state was an amazing event! It was a huge competition held in the Showare Center in Kent, with a ton of great people, amazing robots and energy across the entire event. We saw so many teams in so many bright colours together in this huge stadium.
Teams were encouraged teams to enter their engineering notebook tip as a response to our Livestreamed Youtube video. Quite a few good tips came up in an attempt to win $100 (CAD) of linear actuators from our sponsor Actuonix. Congratulations to the Bearded Pineapples FTC 11104 who won!
Ines and Emily danced at every opportunity, and were sometimes able to drag Aila into dancing as well. The hockey rink covered with floor was a festive location, and big enough to hold both the FLL and FTC competitions.
Tesseract FTC 2856 had a cool design (the coolest by far Emily has seen). They had a series of wheels that act as a conveyor belt, as well as a “bridge” between the glyph pits and the cryptobox. They scored such a huge number with ease and speed.
One or two teams scored a second glyph in autonomous, confirming our hunch that with a wheeled intake we could score more glyphs in autonomous.
FIX IT was thrilled to win the Motivate Award and qualify for the FTC West Super Regional. Congratulations to all the teams who competed at the State Championships!
